About Ear Infection and Rolling Over

My computer crashed the other day, so I am working on my laptop temporarily.  It’s a really basic laptop that I bought several years ago for graduate school; I basically just wanted a word processor.  However, it’s doing great for internet access.  I don’t have any pictures on my hard drive to post though.  I will try to do that later.

Davey has an ear infection.  He had not been sleeping well for a couple of nights, and then was not eating too well and started tugging at his ear.  So I took him to the pediatrician.  Both ears are infected.  Poor thing – 3.5 months old and his ears are infected.  He’s getting better quickly though and we caught it ok because his ears were not horrible.   He certainly loves his bubble gum flavored amoxicillin.  Loves it!  The cherry flavored Tylenol goes down pretty easily for him too.  Talk about a sugar rush if we give them both to him back to back.

Then today:  Davey rolled over!  He’s been working hard.  We got him to where he could roll over if his arm was tucked under his tummy already but he couldn’t just do it if his arms were sprawled out.  Well today he was on his tummy, and he did it seemingly with no effort at all.  Just roll plop.  David was upstairs with him the first time and he started yelling yay he did it!  So I came up and got to witness it.  He’s getting so big!  Yay Davey!

Listening to Davey Coo

Davey just woke up from a nap.  It was really too short, but it sounds like he is about ready to get up.  So far he is in his crib cooing away.  He makes big long drawn out cooing sounds now.  Pretty fun to listen to.

We are just hanging out this weekend.  The week days are so busy with us both coming and going – me trying to get my part-time hours in and David being so busy at school.  So we look forward to the weekend.

I just put him in his swing and he about put his pacifier in his mouth all by himself.  He did actually get it there but he left his hand up there too so that he was simultaneously trying to suck on the pacifier and his thumb.  It’s amazing how fast he is growing.  I tried to put a 3-6 month outfit on him a couple of weeks ago that was just too long for him.  Today it was almost too short.   He’s trying to read his little cloth book now that crackles and crinkles when he touches it.

Saturday

Me and the Davids had a nice day today.  We went to Nashville where it was just darn crowded around the mall.  We went to Academy Sports and bought a treadmill. It’s been really hard to exercise since Davey was born what with us always coming and going during the week as we work and take turns taking care of Davey.  So David hasn’t been able to exercise much and I haven’t been able to try to get back in the habit.  But that will all change now!

It about didn’t fit in the Jeep.  David had to tie the back down.  We all made it home safely though!

We took Davey’s picture of the week today.  We are not biased or anything but he sure looks cute. 🙂

First Super Bowl!

Davey experienced his first Super Bowl last night.  We went to our neighbors’ house for a party.  He had a good time.  He looked around, dozed a little, watched another baby walk around.  She was an 11 month old from down the street.  They liked looking at each other.  As David would say, “looking at their own kind”.

We went home in the 3rd quarter and he watched the game with me while he had his bottle.  I don’t know who he was for, but I was glad the Giants won!

David took these pictures the other day.  I thought they turned out really nice!
