Just imported my typepad blog – wow

I have been planning to import my typepad blog into this blog, but I’d read that the pictures would have to be inserted manually.  Nope.  I had exported my typepad blog to a file on my desktop.  Then I clicked on something like import from typepad and wham bam, here they all are.  Yay!  I liked typepad just fine, but I wasn’t getting anything different there that I am getting here – at least for what I use the blog for – and it is free here! (updated to say WRONGO!  I am a dummy and forgot that when I cancelled typepad, the linked images would no longer have a link.  So I am doing the manual picture thing, as I thought I was going to have to.)

I don’t think I’d posted about Davey’s birthday yet.  I was not too happy with the pictures.  Too many people in the snapshots, too much stuff – they were kind of a mess.  But here he is on his birthday morning happily tearing into a package!  He is still talking about his birthday.  “I want my happy birthday again,” he says.  He had such a nice day!

Saturday Etsy Fave

It’s Saturday morning, and I am ready for Christmas.  No not just Christmas Eve and Day.  I am ready for the Christmas season.  I love the entire holiday season.

Check out this soap by Paradise BodyShop.   I wish I could have a sniff of it right now – It must  smell just wonderful with great winter time scents.  It just exudes holiday spirit!  There are so many other beautiful soaps in this shop as well.  Check them out at paradisebodyshop.etsy.com.  (I love their photography as well!)

My Scrubbies

I have been working hard to try to get an etsy shop going.  I have been making “not just another plain brown scrubbie.”  I knit them with acrylic yarn, and then I crochet a colorful border around them.  I use them myself, and I am just amazed by how well they scrub, and how quickly they dry.  They don’t seem to get all nasty like most scrubbies.  Plus when they do get too dirty, then I can just throw them into the the washer and then the dryer.  No problem.  I really like making these because I feel like I am providing an eco friendly product.  The fact that they are made from acrylic bothered me a little, but they are indestructible and should just last and last and last. So because of their extreme re-usability, I think they are pretty great.

I have been making them in all kinds of colors.  I actually have had a couple of custom orders.  I just shipped of 25 for a customer.  That was great.  Today I made some with a purple border – the first purple ones I have made.  I love them.  You can check them out here:  http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=34435550

It’s Friday and here is my Etsy Favorite of the Day

It’s Friday!  Sunny and chilly outside.  I am not feeling too awake yet.  I think I should remember to post after I have had my morning diet coke.  (My choice of morning caffeine boost!)

Looking at this cheerful art doll actually does give me a little wake up boost.  Who can resist the freckles, the braids, and this sweet smile?

Oh I wish I posted daily

Darn it!  11-11 – I haven’t posted in a couple of weeks.  I guess better seldom than never, but I’d like to do better.

We spent last Saturday pretty much glued to our computers.  (my family).  Michael completed his first ironman triathlon.  It was incredible, and the internet made it possible to keep up with his time at parts of each stage, and it made it possible to watch him actually come through the finish line.  We had the video feed up and watched and waited, and at around 7:30pm, here he came with a time of 12 hours and 24 minutes.  It was incredible!

Mommy? What are you doing?

Davey has conversations with me that consist of a series of questions.  "Mommy?"  "You knitting?"  "With your yarn?"  "And your needles?"  "You making a scarf?"  We do this a lot during the day.  And sometimes in the middle of the night.

Davey has what I am pretty sure is the flu.  We may have caught it early enough so that the tamiflu is really kicking in.  He's much better today.  He went to bed last night at 6:30pm so he woke up about 1am, ready to chat.  He wanted to come to our bed.  "I want some milk."  "Mommy get me some milk."  Then he started talking and talking.  I was so tired, that I don't really remember what he was talking about. I need to ask David.

Also, the other night, Davey was sitting next to me on the couch.  All of a sudden he smiled and started looking really intently into my eyes.  I mean really looking into my eyes.  Finally he smiled some more, and he said, "There's a picture of me in your eyes."  He could see his reflection.  It was the sweetest thing.

And finally, the other day, David went to the post office with me.  He likes to help me carry in whatever I am mailing, and he hands it to the postal employee.  Well, I guess I was daydreaming or thinking about something, and I drove right past the post office.  I had just passed it, and I hear from the backseat, "Mommy, there's the post office!"  So glad to have Davey keep me on track!
