Naptime

Just put Davey to bed for a nap.  He had about a 25 minute one earlier, but he woke up and needed a nap break I guess.  So we played a little, had part of a bottle, but then he was getting fussy and red-eyed so it’s time for nap number two.  We have done that a few times lately.  He likes when you put a blanket on him. I don’t usually at night but during the day he likes to wrestle with it!

Here’s another picture of Davey sitting up.  He’s just doing great.  It’s like all of a sudden, he can sit up!  One day he can’t, and the next day he just sits there like a champ.

Picture of the Week

Yesterday we took Davey’s picture of the week:  I liked this one a lot:

Cutie

So far Davey is always so patient with us as we take his picture on the couch with the frog EVERY week.  This week he is wearing his precious little shirt from Karen and Kevin – made by nice ladies in Ghana.  He is just five months old, but he looks like such a little boy in this picture! I think this final picture though shows that he’d had enough.  He’d had a HUGE spit up – which David actually caught in a photo, but which I thought was probably too gross to share.  He didn’t fuss, but well the picture tells the story:

Happy Birthday Adilyn!

Today is my niece Adilyn’s 3rd birthday!  She’s a cutie, and I wish we could spend her birthday with her!

It’s stormy here this morning.  I am listening to the weather warnings which are on tv downstairs.  They have gone to constant weather coverage which is never a great sign.  Most of the weather is south of us though.

I started packing some again too.  Davey did not like the sound of the big packing tape dispenser.  I am trying to get him accustomed to it slowly as he is going to be hearing it a lot for the next month or so.  I can’t believe I am packing again.

Took this picture of Davey the other day:

Davey is playing on his quilt and screeching like a banshee.  He is learning about the range of his voice.  Exercising his lungs and all that.

Getting Ready

I just typed in a nice post and then I didn’t save it right.  Either that or I will see a double post in a bit.  So in short.  Mom and Papa are coming tonight.  We are looking forward to seeing them!  Took Davey to the doctor today – his ears look good although she had to clear out some ear wax to ascertain that. 🙂

Bought a Tassimo Beverage maker today.  I have been wanting one for awhile – but didn’t splurge.  In honor of Mom and Papa coming, I splurged. 🙂

Here’s a happy picture that I took yesterday:

Voyage

I finished Voyage of the Frog by Gary Paulsen last night.  What a great Young Adult book.  Gary Paulsen is so good.

Speaking of voyages, (nice segue huh),  Karen, Kev, Mikayla and Jadyn visited us last week during their Spring Break.  We had a great time, and we took some nice pictures.  Here is a layout from a picture of the Three Cousins. I did this layout for a challenge I like to do HMITM (How much is too much).  This week was use 5 patterned papers, 5 brads, 5 rub-ons, 5 stamps and 5 of something else. It was
really fun!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!  We are enjoying our first Easter with Davey.  I am going to make ham, roasted sweet potatoes (you roast them with honey, olive oil and a little lemon juice) and asparagus.

Davey was up early this morning.  David got up with him and gave him a bath.  We have his first Easter basket to give him in a little while.  I confess that enormous white chocolate bunny is for big Davey.  There are some toys in the basket for him though!  (We are still trying to find something that he likes teething on better than our fingers.Easterjoy2) Have a nice Easter!

Clarification

I realized my last two posts talk about an ear infection.  It looks like he has had the longest ear infection ever.  He actually did recover quickly from the first one and this is the second.  Poor thing.

I can’t size pictures right now so I have a few scrapbook pages I did that I scanned in.

Happy St Patrick’s Day

I have been a blog slacker!  I need to post some new pictures, but since my computer crashed I have not reloaded photoshop and so my sizing ability is limited.  I need to get something figured out on that.

Karen, Kevin, Mikayla and Jadyn are getting close.  We are so excited that they are coming.  I can’t wait for them to see Davey.

I took Davey back to the doctor today.  Apparently his antibiotic wasn’t strong enough so she prescribed him a stronger one.  Poor thing and that darn ear infection.

Making cinnamon rolls – must go finish!

About Ear Infection and Rolling Over

My computer crashed the other day, so I am working on my laptop temporarily.  It’s a really basic laptop that I bought several years ago for graduate school; I basically just wanted a word processor.  However, it’s doing great for internet access.  I don’t have any pictures on my hard drive to post though.  I will try to do that later.

Davey has an ear infection.  He had not been sleeping well for a couple of nights, and then was not eating too well and started tugging at his ear.  So I took him to the pediatrician.  Both ears are infected.  Poor thing – 3.5 months old and his ears are infected.  He’s getting better quickly though and we caught it ok because his ears were not horrible.   He certainly loves his bubble gum flavored amoxicillin.  Loves it!  The cherry flavored Tylenol goes down pretty easily for him too.  Talk about a sugar rush if we give them both to him back to back.

Then today:  Davey rolled over!  He’s been working hard.  We got him to where he could roll over if his arm was tucked under his tummy already but he couldn’t just do it if his arms were sprawled out.  Well today he was on his tummy, and he did it seemingly with no effort at all.  Just roll plop.  David was upstairs with him the first time and he started yelling yay he did it!  So I came up and got to witness it.  He’s getting so big!  Yay Davey!

Listening to Davey Coo

Davey just woke up from a nap.  It was really too short, but it sounds like he is about ready to get up.  So far he is in his crib cooing away.  He makes big long drawn out cooing sounds now.  Pretty fun to listen to.

We are just hanging out this weekend.  The week days are so busy with us both coming and going – me trying to get my part-time hours in and David being so busy at school.  So we look forward to the weekend.

I just put him in his swing and he about put his pacifier in his mouth all by himself.  He did actually get it there but he left his hand up there too so that he was simultaneously trying to suck on the pacifier and his thumb.  It’s amazing how fast he is growing.  I tried to put a 3-6 month outfit on him a couple of weeks ago that was just too long for him.  Today it was almost too short.   He’s trying to read his little cloth book now that crackles and crinkles when he touches it.
